It's been a happy spring, if confusing at times.
I had a birthday last month, and decided not to go the traditional
cake-and-wrapped presents routine. I think that's sort of why I'd gone off
birthdays a little; it gets to feel a bit of a command performance at times, the sort of thing people expect you to do because "Everyone does."
I and a couple of my relatives went on a road trip to Mt. Washington.
Not all of us were up to climbing that, so we took a different approach to
reaching the summit: the Mt.Washington Cog Railway.
It was amazing. Just the most beautiful view of the Presidential Range
at the top.
Going up to Washington's summit has been one of the items on my BIG to-do
list. I may try the climb in a couple of years, if I can get into better
condition. (Though I'll advise anyone who makes the trip, by either rail or foot: seriously, wear winter clothing. I kid you not. There were patches of unmelted snow along our route, and the winds at the summit are
harsh.)
Of course, I took pictures. I'll try to upload some later.

The presents I DID receive were muchly appreciated, however. Still reading MacAvoy's The Third Eagle, which is wonderfully written.
